Procedures for Corn Treatment

Sonic Bloom can increase corn stalk and root development, increase the size and number of fully

developed ears on corn that has the genetic capability to produce multiple ears. Your corn seed

supplier can inform you of the type of corn seed that has these capabilities. Use the proper soil

amendments along with the Sonic Bloom system for the best results.

The treatment of corn with Sonic Bloom includes treating the seed prior to planting with a solution of

Sonic Bloom nutrient and sound. It also includes applying the Sonic Bloom sound and spray system

at proper times during the growth cycle.

Treating the Corn Seed

To promote germination and enhance early development, the following seed treatment i

recommended. The treatment consists of soaking the seed in Sonic Bloom nutrient at the rate of 1/4

oz. nutrient to 1 gallon of water with the sound playing for 8 hrs prior to planting. Directly after the 8

hour soak, plant the seed as normal.

Instructions for mixing nutrient

The nutrient should be mixed with water in a clean bucket or pail 5 gallon or 20 litre. Add the nutrient

first and then add the amount of clean rust free water with pressure force in the amounts formulated

below. Nutrient should always be added first and should froth when water is applied with pressure.

Five gallons or 20 liters of mixture should treat 1100 pounds or 500 kilograms of seed.

English and Metric Formulas for Mixing Soak

lbs or kilograms of seed Multiplier Amount of Sonic Bloom Multiplier Amount of Water

English

(pounds of seeds to treat) X .0011365 =(ounces of Sonic Bloom) X 4 =(amount of water needed)

Example:440lbs eed X .0011365 =.5 oz Sonic Bloom X 4 =2 gallons water

Metric

(Kgs of seeds to treat)X .075 =(milliliters of Sonic Bloom)X 533.4 then divide by 1000 =amount

water (liters)

Example:500kg.X .075 =37.5 ml of Sonic Bloom X 533.4 divide by 1000 =20ltrs of water

Corn Seed Treatment

Instructions on Methods to treat Corn Seed

Full seed bag method (50 lb.bag)

1.Take one empty bag and line it with a plastic liner.

2.Take a full bag of seed, cut the top open, and pour in 16 oz (500 ml) of Sonic Bloom mixture.

3. Stir with broom handle or similar.

4.Then pour the corn seed from the full bag, into the empty bag with the liner in it.

5.Add another 16 oz.(500 ml) of the Sonic Bloom mixture and stir with broom handle.

6.Place on back of truck and continue to method with each additional bag of seed until all bags

have been treated and placed on truck.

7.Place sound unit on back of truck, turn on and leave on for eight hours facing the bag (s). Plant

corn as normal, immediately after the eight hours. (Note: When using a Model 1 sound unit, you

will need to leave a light on close to sound unit, so photocell activates the unit).

Smaller Amounts of Corn Seed

For smaller amounts be ure to have a plastic lined container large enough to hold the amount of

corn seed you want to treat. The above formulas with help determine the amount of nutrient to mix.

Spraying after Planting

The first Sonic Bloom spray at the rate of 330:1 (1/3 oz per gallon water or 10 ml per 4 liters water)

should be applied right after emergence of the cotyledons (primary first set of leaves). Spray should

be applied early morning, with the sound on 30 minutes prior to spraying and remaining on for 3 -4

hours minimum after spraying. When using mechanical, self propelling and/or tractor pulled

sprayers,a sound unit should be placed on prayer unit. The outside temperature needs to 52

degrees Fahrenheit or above to spray. Spraying in the early morning is the best, except in the very

early spring when afternoon temperatures are warmer. Spraying late afternoon about 4:00 PM in the

early spring is acceptable. As weather warms, then switch to morning spraying as normal.

When the first true leaves have emerged from seedlings, the second Sonic Bloom application at the

rate of 256:1 (1/2 ounce per gallon water or 15 ml per 4 liters water) should be made. True leaf

formation should have occurred more rapidly that it would have without Sonic Bloom, also the leaves

will be a bit larger and more translucent. As more leaves develop they will continue to increase in

size. The pattern of leaf veins, which can easily be seen by holding a leaf up to the light will be far

more complex.

Additional applications at the 256:1 rate should be applied every 7 -10 days after the second

spraying, until 3 more sprayings are complete. Regular soil amendments should continue to ensure

a healthy soil. Good cultivation and weed control practices should be in place during this time also.

NOTE: It is very important that the first two sprays be applied to the emerged corn within the first 23

days.
